人有三急,分別是內急、性急和心急
古今也有三疾,那是咱們孔子說的「狂、矜、愚」
「狂」是指狂妄,「矜」是指驕傲,「愚」是指愚昧。
「古者民有三疾,今也或是之亡也。
古之狂也肆,今之狂也盪;
古之矜也廉,今之矜也忿戾;
古之愚也直,今之愚也詐而已矣。」
【翻譯】
孔子說:“古代的百姓有三種心性偏執,但是當今這三方面的偏執已經變本加厲。
古代的狂是輕率肆意,現在的狂則是放蕩不羈;
古代驕傲自大,只不過是棱角分明了些,現在則是惱羞成怒,強詞奪理
古代愚笨的人是憨直篩真了些,而現在的愚笨卻是欺詐啊!“
Prestigious hospitals (with crazy ER patient inflow) or local clinics (with crazy cash inflow?)
This is a topic that ive been working on these years.
(and with the title i wrote, it seems not like a difficult choice) lol
Well, let me spill the tea on a hot debate I’ve been unpacking recently.
So, this all kicked off with a bit of a tiff between a dental resident from KMU—yep, that’s my old home college—and a dental figure who’s got social media buzzing.
He’s not keen on the ‘influencer’ tag , so we’ll just call him Dr. S
Now, Dr. S stirred the pot when he dropped a story on his fan page about a patient—let’s call her Miss A.
Here’s the lowdown:
Miss A had her endo treatment by Dr. S with a temporary crown in Taipei.
But during her Chinese New Year shindig back in Kaohsiung, the temp crown had fallen.
Highlight the timing “Chinese New Year”.
With orthodontic braces and a baby to nurse, Miss A had no choice but re-crown her tooth, re-establishing her chewing function during chinese new year.
She dialed up local clinics for three calls, but no one picked up.
So, she dashed to the ER at KMU Hospital, and that’s when things got spicy.
Okay, so here’s the scoop straight from Dr. S’s post — —(免責聲明)
Miss A felt that she’s being got at since the dental resident met her, saying that she was clogging up the ER with her dental drama.
Then, as they headed to the treatment room, the resident threw some shade at her , “Oh… you’re one of Dr. S’s fans?” (patient, i mean)
The tease didn’t stop there.
As the resident even started to criticize Dr.S expertise, our Miss A wasn’t having it.
She stood her ground, “Dr. S is the best,” she fired back. Her loyalty is as solid as a rock. (that’s my word, sorry.)
Just then, the resident’s sidekick came to take over the rest of the cementation work, and the resident didn’t miss a chance to moan about ” it’s her 7 or 8 patients today” , implying Miss A being yet another add-on to her crazy day.
Amidst this snarky banter, Miss A couldn’t help but feel a twinge of guilt, wondering if she was just adding to their load. (well, yes)
So the medical community went into a debate after Dr. S’s commentary hit his fan.
Well, Yes, I do have something to say.
But cut through the noise for a sec.
Imagine myself a KMU ER resident,(yeah , cuz we’ll been there)
dying to go back sleep every second during my work (Just to clarify: ME)
The last thing I’d do is kick back this kind of meaningless small gossip about another dentist’s work, especially in the middle of a holiday rush. I mean, c’mon….
Just like Dr. S nailed it in his post.
A dentist dont ask patients how a dentist do.
cuz generally what we’ve got is “feeling” — gentle/rude, efficient/slow, seems to be clumsy/skilled….
We just dive straight into the real deal—the mouth.
That’s where the truth lies, not in some ‘feels’ story.
But anyway, sometimes, we only hear what we wanna hear.
今天練習英文寫作 電腦用的太多了。
Stay tuned to see how this drama unfolds.
Until then, keep flossing!
(try not to need an emergency temp crown fix during the biggest festivals, huh?)
